Macra Agricultural Skillnet: 18th April 2019

Macra na Feirme President, James Healy, welcomed Michael Creed, TD and Minister for Agriculture Food and Marine, Paul Healy, CEO of Skillnet Ireland and invited guests from the wider farming and agri business sector to the launch of the Macra Agricultural Skillnet research report on “The Development and Implementation of an Accredited Continuing Professional Development Framework in Agriculture” in Buswells Hotel on 17th April . The research was commissioned by Macra Agricultural Skillnet with funding and support from Skillnet Ireland and was delivered by LIT and Broadmore Research. Macra Agricultural Skillnet thanks all those who were involved in bringing this ground breaking report to publication, and most particularly our young famers, member companies and stakeholders in the agri business sector who took part in surveys, submissions and focus groups. The report is available here.

Applications are now open for our Masters in Agricultural Extension and Innovation. This course, delivered by UCD, is a part time and distance learning programme with a number of classroom days over the two academic years. The course will equip graduates with the necessary skills and knowledge to better support and advise farmers on innovations and methods of improving and developing their farm businesses.
