Macra Win Best Targeted Communications at Agri Guild Awards

Carrigaline Macra Annual Agricultural Conference

Carrigaline Macra na Feirme in association with AIB recently launched our upcoming Annual Agricultural Conference taking place on Monday 12th of November 2018 in the Estuary Suite, Rochestown Park Hotel, Co. Cork.

Light Refreshments will be served from 18:00. We will have a number of Agri Exhibitor Stands taking part in our information hub from 18:00 to 19:30.

Agri Talk Topic: “The Opportunities & Challenges for the Irish Agri Food Industry”

Cavan Macra hosting panel discussion on issues affecting farmers

Cavan Macra together with the IFA are hosting a talk in the Cavan Crystal Hotel on Nov 14th at 8pm. A panel discussion into some of the most important issues affecting both younger and older farmers. Three excellent speakers will attend:

Derrie Dillon who will be discussing Brexit and Cap reform.
Martin Stapleton who will be discussing succession and taxation.
Cathal Cassidy who will be discussing animal nutrition.

Everyone welcome and refreshments served afterwards.

 

Carrigaline Macra New Year’s Eve Ball 2018

Carrigaline Macra in association with our kind sponsors Walsh & Partners and Michael Pigott are proud to present once again our annual New Year's Eve ball which is sure to attract another great crowd this time round. This year it is taking place in the well known Rochestown Park Hotel which those who were at this event last year will be very familiar with. On arrival, guests will be treated to a drinks reception at 18:15, cocktail bar, followed by a delicious five course meal at 8pm, entertainment by the band Renovator and DJ Peter Bowles until late. The hotel and event room will be decked out in style and everyone is guaranteed to dance, jig and sing in the new year. As well as this a special room rate has been arranged for those in attendance which is €130 for a double/twin room B&B. Breakfast on the first day of the new year will be served up to 11am to accommodate late partygoers!

Awbeg Macra Club News

Awbeg Macra members have been known to talk the talk, especially Kate O’Regan who won the regional round of impromptu public speaking in Buttevant on the 5th of October. Best of luck to Kate in the National Semi Final on 24th November held in Glantane.

Welcome home to our All Ireland winning Capers and Debating teams who went on the National Macra Prizewinners’ trip to Budapest. A great trip was organised with many cultural experiences!

Well done to Patrick O’Keeffe who won the regional round of beef stock-judging and did very well in the National finals.

Our members put their brain matter to the test in the National Final of The Farmer’s Journal Know your Agriculture Quiz on the Friday night of the Macra Rally in Clonmel Park Hotel. Huge congratulations to Adrian, Dan, John and Niall who came National Runners Up on the night.

Awbeg Macra’s Mystery tour will take place on Saturday 24th November 8pm. Always a fantastic night and spaces are filling up fast. €10 deposits will be collected at club soccer night this Friday at 8pm in Mourneabbey GAA pitch, followed by monthly club meeting in Derry’s, Mourneabbey.

A busy few weeks for Awbeg was finished off with having not one, but two Awbeg Mens’ teams and a Ladies team at the Regional Round of soccer held in Mallow. Congratulations are in order for the boys A team on winning out the competition after a series of grueling matches. Well done to the girls who narrowly lost the ladies’ final. Best of luck to the Mens’ team going through to the National Finals on 2nd December.

 

Aghinagh Macra Club News

Aghinagh Men’s and Ladies soccer teams both won the Muskerry division Soccer competition recently in Donoughmore. Both teams will now advance to the All-Ireland finals in Dublin on December 2nd. This is a great achievement and the club wishes both teams the very best of luck. New members always welcomed.

 

Mallow Macra Club News

Mallow Macra are hosting a Hollywood Quiz Night on Friday 16th November in The Arches Bar, Mallow with proceeds in aid of Cope Foundation Curra House. The fun starts at 8.30pm, €10 per person. Our MC on the night will be PT Instructor Katie O’Connell of KTFitness. Please come on the night to support!

Huge congratulations to club member Daniel James Cotter, who took part in the New York City Marathon on Sunday 5th November!

Well done to our club members who took part in the regional round of welding in Donoughmore on Wednesday 24th October.

Athboy Macra Holding 5k Road Race

On Sunday 25th November @ 11:30am, Athboy Macra na Feirme will hold a 5K Road Race at the Bawn Inn, Higginstown, Athboy, Co.Meath in aid of the Macra Hall in Athboy. We as a youth organisation see the Macra Hall as the focal meeting point of our club especially for holding our meetings, events and some competitions. Not only does it benefit us but also many of the other clubs and groups in our community so therefore we want to hold this road race to raise money for the upkeep of the hall. Come along and join in on the fun with many prizes to be won along with kids races on the day!
