Carbery Macra News

What a weekend it has been for the region. With our members travelling up to Kilkenny for the Mr Personality competition and the basketball final.  Our Friday night the interviews on stage took place with our very own Barry Walsh showing everyone his great love for Carbery region and getting the crowd dining along and laughing. The following day the boys within the Carbery region took part in the hurling and the girls went up defending their title in the camogie blitz. 
On the Saturday night the winner of Mr Personality was announced with our very own Barry Walsh coming runner up.  A great night and weekend of celebrating was had.
On Sunday Dunmanway Macra represented Carbery in the volleyball final where on the day they won the final.  Well done from all in the region.
As the weeks come closer and closer for the Macra na Feirme AGM 'DO IT AGAIN DEBS'  dinner dance in the 12th of May all the region are working hard in making sure it will be a great night.

Cavan Macra to take Part in 'Stairway to Heaven'

Cavan Macra are planning to do Cuilcagh Mountain's 'Stairway to Heaven' on Sunday 27th May. If anyone would like to join them please contact Caoimhe on 086 4546882 as they will be booking tables for food plus a visit to Marble Arch Caves Global Geopark is to be confirmed

Ferbane/Banagher Macra News

The club had a busy weekend with club member Kelvin North taking part in last weekend's Mr. Personality competition as he followed in the footsteps of offaly member Fergal Leonard who scooped the top prize last year. Although he didn't place, the club were very proud of him.

The club would like to extend their congratulations to club members Sarah Jane Egan and Conor Quinn on their recent wedding nuptials and wish them every happiness for the future.


Macra’s toughest club takes place on the 5th of May. A team consists of one girl and two boys. If anyone is interested in taking part please let us know the club secretary know. It would be great to enter another team again this year.

Banquet tickets are also available so please let the club secretary know if you intend on attending the banquet.

The next meeting is in late April 2018. The weekly club sports night is one if the main features the club at the moment so if you want to find out anymore information about the upcoming events or would like to join Macra please contact club chairperson Sarah Kelly on 086-3575915
