Are you interested in being recognised for your contribution to farming? Then the FBD Young Farmer of the Year Awards are an opportunity for you, as a young farmer, to represent your county and receive a prize. You could also be in with a chance to win a travel bursary and experience farm practices abroad while developing your skills. Every county can have a representative for each of the following farming sectors: Dairy, Drystock (Beef or Sheep), Land Mobility and Other Enterprises.
The closing date for entries is June 21st 2019.
The final will take place on Tuesday 3rd September in the FBD Castleknock Hotel. On the night a winner will be announced for each category. There will also crown the overall Young Farmer Of The Year. We will also have awards for the Best Emerging Young Farmer, Carbon Efficieny and Biodiversity.
Who Can Enter?
Farmers must be:
- Under 35 years of age on the 1st January 2019 and a member of Macra na Feirme or the IFA
- Involved in the running of the farm on which they currently work for a least three years, either full time or part time.
Note: All 2018 county winners and all past ‘FBD Young Farmer of the Year’ winners are ineligible to enter – all other entrants from last year and previous years may enter the competition.
