What is Macra?
Macra is a vibrant organisation based in towns and villages in every county in Ireland. We cater for 17-40 year olds and provide a fun, learning and social community for those interested in rural development and issues of concerns for those living there, as well as our very important and well known background in agriculture and all things related to the land.
We have continued to evolve along with Ireland and its changing demographics and now just one third of our members are working directly on farms, though many more have a strong connection through their grandparents, parents, and siblings. We now have an almost even split between young women and young men in membership.
In all we have over 10,000 members organised on a club and county basis. We will put you in touch with your local club on joining and they will reach out and welcome you. We have over 150 clubs in total and we are forming new clubs all of the time.

Membership Types and Rates
STUDENT MEMBERSHIP: covers full-time students from 17 up to the age of 24.
Just €30 per year (direct debit) / €35 per year (card payment).
STANDARD MEMBERSHIP: covers everybody else up to 40 years of age
FIRST MEMBERSHIP YEAR: Just €30 (direct debit) / €35 (card payment).
SUBSEQUENT YEARS: Just €50 per year (direct debit) / €60 per year (card payment).
PATRON MEMBERSHIP: covers those whose time being involved in clubs has finished and who wish to retain their connection to and support of Macra as well as attending special patron event.
Just €50 per year (direct debit or card payment).
How the application process works
Decide on the most suitable membership option for you based on the definitions above.
Simply click the link for that option. The system will check if you have been a member before.
If you are a New Member, you will be asked to fill out an application form and complete the payment instructions form.
if you are renewing a previous membership subscription you can confirm your details and complete the renewal application.
Once membership is established you will automatically qualify for all our membership discounts. You will receive a text message and email from us when your membership has been set up with your membership number and virtual membership card.
Your local club will contact you in the coming weeks if you are a new member to invite you to the next event in your area.
