Macra and The ASA Team Up for International Women’s Day Celebration in Aid of Breast Cancer Ireland.
Macra and The ASA are teaming up once again for their second annual International Women’s Day celebration. Last year’s event took place in the Heritage Hotel Killenard raised €6,500 for Breast Cancer Ireland and this year the organisations hope to raise that and more.
Elaine Houlihan, Macra President said “It’s great to see the relationship between Macra and the ASA continue to grow and to be able to come together again this year to celebrate women and support Breast Cancer Ireland.”
Highlighting the important work that Breast Cancer Ireland do, Ms. Houlihan continued “One in seven women in Ireland will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. There’s almost no one who makes it through life without being touched by this in some way shape or form. That’s why we are so proud to be able to support Breast Cancer Ireland with this event, and to help fund the vital work that they do.”
This year’s event will take place on Thursday, March 6th in Lawlor’s Hotel, Naas, Co. Kildare. The day will kick off at 11.30. Macra President Elaine Houlihan and ASA President Susan Maher will address guests at 12pm before they are treated to a delicious three-course lunch and a thought-provoking panel discussion.
This year's panel discussion is based on the theme of Bridging Gaps: Turning Challenges into Opportunities. Ms Houlihan said of the theme “No one gets through life without facing some sort of challenge, whether it’s a minor setback like a flat tyre on the way to work or something life-changing like a cancer diagnosis. What makes or breaks us is how we react to those challenges and learn and grow from them. This year's panel discussion will hopefully inspire our guests to face their challenges head-on and reach their fullest potential.”
ASA president Susan Maher noted the changing role of women in the agri sector. “The role of women in the agricultural sector is shifting from what was historically a supporting role to a leading role. On March 6th ASA in partnership with Macra will celebrate 4 inspiring women who are paving the road for female leaders in our industry. We hope to have as many people as possible join us for this lunch time event, kindly supported by Macra and in aid of Breast Cancer Ireland”
Both organisations are delighted to once again have the support of FBD on this year’s event. “FBD have always been a great supporter of Macra and we are so glad they have come on board again this year to sponsor our International Women’s Day event”, said Ms. Houlihan.
Tickets are priced at €40 per person or €300 for a table of eight, and can be purchased through the ASA website or by clicking the link below.
