Green Valley Macra Club Minutes of Meeting
Date: Wednesday, 16th October 2025

1. Welcome & Opening
· The Chairperson, Sarah O’Donnell, opened the meeting at 8:03pm and welcomed all members.
· Apologies were received from John Murphy and Aisling Kelly.
2. Minutes of Previous Meeting
· The minutes of the September meeting were read and approved.
· Matters arising: The hall booking for drama practice has now been confirmed.
3. Correspondence
· Email from County Macra regarding the upcoming debating competition was noted. County round to take place on November 1st, closing date for entries October 25th.
· Letter received from the local credit union confirming sponsorship of €200 towards the table quiz fundraiser.
4. Officer Reports
· Chairperson’s Report: Positive feedback from the recent charity walk, with €650 raised for the local hospice.
· Secretary’s Report: Reminder to complete and return insurance forms by the end of October.
· Treasurer’s Report: Current balance of €1,250 in the club account; main transactions since last meeting were €150 hall rental and €200 sponsorship received.
· PRO’s Report: Great engagement on the club Facebook page (1,200 views on charity walk post). An article also featured in the Green Valley Times.
5. Programme Planning & Events
· Table Quiz Fundraiser: Friday, 25th October at The Shamrock Bar.

· Raffle prizes – each member to secure one.
· Drama Practice: Every Tuesday at 7:30pm in the Community Hall.
· November Social: Members voted for a bowling night on 15th November.
6. Fundraising

· Members discussed holding a Christmas raffle in December; further planning at next meeting.
7. County/National Updates
· County Sports Night scheduled for 10th November in Glenfield Sports Centre – members encouraged to attend.
· National Conference to be held in Cork, 20–22 November – registration details shared.
8. Any Other Business (AOB)
· Proposal made to run a first aid workshop for members in January – to be explored further.
· Transport arrangements to county events discussed; options to be finalised at next meeting.

· Wednesday, 13th November 2025 at 8:00pm in the Community Hall.

· The Chairperson thanked all members for attending and closed the meeting at 9:15pm.
