The Macra Volunteer of the Year Awards are back for 2026. Nominations are now open for the 2026 Awards, which will be presented at a banquet dinner following the National Training Day, which will take place on Saturday, 3rd October 2026, in the Athlone Springs Hotel.
🗓️ Key Dates:
· Launch and Application Opening Date: Monday, 11th May 2026
· Application Closing Date: Wednesday, 1st July 2026
· Shortlisting Nominations by 15th July 2026
· Nominee Interviews: 4th - 20th August 2026
· Online Voting: Complete 3rd to 7th September 2026
· Awards Ceremony: 3rd October 2026 in Athlone Springs Hotel
⚠️ The Rules:
· Anyone may nominate a candidate from within their own club, but the club secretary and nominee must accept and confirm the nomination by 2nd July 2026 for the nominee to continue in the competition.
· Previous Volunteer of the Year Award Winners, previous Macra Leadership award winners, previous President's Medal recipients, Board Members, Presidents & Vice-Presidents (past or present) are not eligible to apply.
· Candidates who have entered either the Best New Member competition or the Macra Leadership Awards will automatically be removed from the Volunteer of the Year Award.
